Cookware
Kilne’s Ceramic Pots and Pans are meticulously crafted in Italy with a focus on creating less waste, by using sustainable practices and electric energy. Each piece features a high-thickness body made from 100% recycled aluminum, a ferromagnetic steel base for use on all stovetops (including induction), and stainless steel handles for durability.
The exteriors are finished with an easy-clean, anti-stain silicon matte lacquer, while the interiors use Kilne’s patented non-toxic ceramic non-stick coating, designed for long-lasting performance and healthier cooking.
Kilne’s patented ceramic non-stick coating is engineered to last up to 4x longer than standard non-stick coatings. It creates a durable, glass-like surface that’s scratch-resistant and hydro-repellent, delivering excellent non-stick performance.
Independent lab tests back this up: in a burned milk release test, Kilne’s non-stick outperformed standard ceramic pans by over 93%, and in an abrasion stress test, it endured 198,000 more scrubbing cycles without breaking down.
This isn’t just lab-tested — it’s real-world proven. Chatelaine editors reported using their Kilne Everything Pan for almost four years, praising it as a “genuinely sturdy non-stick pan” that still performs beautifully and stands the test of time.
Just as importantly, the coating is 100% non-toxic and eco-friendly. Made from inorganic materials and natural solvents like water and alcohol, it is completely free from PFAs, PTFEs (Teflon), PFOAs, nickel, and heavy metals. That means you can cook with confidence for friends and family.
Yes. Kilne cookware is made with non-toxic materials and a ceramic non-stick coating that penetrates multiple surface layers. Unlike traditional non-stick pans, Kilne pots and pans remain completely safe to use even if there are minor scratches.
Yes. All Kilne pots and pans are safe to use on any type of stovetop, including induction, thanks to their ferromagnetic steel bases. They are also oven safe up to 400°C / 750°F (without lids).
The lids are oven safe up to 250°C / 480°F, making them perfect for most baking and roasting needs.
To get the best performance and longest life from your Kilne pots and pans, we recommend:
Cooking: With Kilne cookware, low to medium heat is all you need for everyday cooking. For best results, use high-smoke-point oils such as avocado, grapeseed, or canola to prevent residue buildup and keep the non-stick surface performing at its best.
Utensils: We recommend using silicone or wood utensils to keep your cookware’s ceramic non-stick coating performing at its best.
Cleaning: We recommend hand-washing to extend the life of the non-stick coating. Always let cookware cool before washing, as extreme temperature fluctuations — like plunging a hot pan into cold water — can damage the coating.
Storage: Store cookware safely by hanging it on a wall or pot rack, or by stacking carefully with a soft cloth in between to prevent scratches. The Kilne Magnetic Cookware Storage and Lid Organizer, included in select cookware sets, is also designed to keep pots, pans, and lids neatly organized while protecting their non-stick surfaces.
With proper care, Kilne cookware is designed to stay non-stick and perform beautifully for years.
Knives
Kilne knives are crafted from high-grade X50CrMoV15 German stainless steel with durable Polyoxymethylene (POM) handles. The blades are engineered to stay sharp for precision cutting, and the full steel construction from tip to tail provides exceptional strength, durability, and balance.
Here’s what X50CrMoV15 German steel means for your knives:
X — Stainless Steel - High-grade German Steel for precision cutting.50 — Carbon (0.5%): creates hardness and edge retention so the blade stays sharper, longer.
Cr — Chromium - Boosts rust resistance.Mo — Molybdenum - Adds toughness and reduces chipping.
V — Vanadium - Improves grain structure and durability.
15 — Chromium Content (15%): Provides oxidation and corrosion resistance, qualifying as stainless steel.
Kilne knives stay sharper longer than most knives, but regular maintenance keeps them performing at their best:
Every few uses: Hone your knives with the Kilne Sharpening Steel to realign the blade edge. Just a few quick strokes make a big difference.
Every few months (with daily use): Use the Kilne Water Knife Sharpener to create new micro-teeth on the blade.
Serrated knives (Bread Knife, Steak Knives): These require less frequent sharpening and a different approach. Kilne recommends taking them to a professional for sharpening.
Annual maintenance: As with all quality knives, we recommend having your knives professionally sharpened about once a year to restore their edge and extend their lifespan.
For safety and longevity, the best way to store Kilne knives is on the Kilne Magnetic Strip or in the Kilne Magnetic Knife Block. We don’t recommend storing knives loose in drawers, as this can dull the blades and increase the risk of accidental damage.
Dinnerware
Kilne dinnerware is meticulously crafted in Portugal using sustainable practices that create less waste. Each piece is made from stoneware ceramic — a non-porous, highly durable material known for its strength and stone-like qualities.
Our dinnerware is produced with a single-fire process at 1180ºC (2160ºF), which bonds the clay body and glaze together, creating a fully vitrified surface that resists both thermal and mechanical shocks. This method reduces emissions, saves up to 70% more energy compared to traditional multi-fire methods, and ensures that all Kilne dinnerware is fully recyclable at the end of its lifecycle.
Both the clay and glazes are made with recycled materials. For example, our charcoal clay is produced with 90% recycled content, reclaimed from internal manufacturing. Processes involving water are also responsibly managed, including treating and reusing wastewater for cleaning purposes. The raw materials we use are sourced from Portugal’s best natural resources, chosen to minimize our ecological footprint.
Yes. All Kilne stoneware is 100% food-safe and free from lead and cadmium, meeting international safety standards. You can serve meals with confidence knowing your dinnerware is non-toxic.
Yes. Kilne dinnerware is designed for everyday versatility:
- Dishwasher safe for easy cleanup
- Microwave safe and oven safe up to 250°C / 480°F
- Freezer safe down to -20°C / -4°F
For longevity, avoid sudden temperature changes (like moving directly from the freezer to the oven), which may cause cracking. Always use oven mitts or a tea towel when handling dinnerware directly from heat sources, as it will get hot.
Flatware
Kilne Flatware is made in Portugal from 18/10 stainless steel (18% chromium, 10% nickel), a premium blend known for its shine, strength, and resistance to corrosion. This material is also 100% recyclable, and production uses a clean, environmentally friendly process focused on reducing and reusing resources.
Kilne Flatware is dishwasher safe and easy to maintain:
- Wash before first use.
- When using the dishwasher, place knives separately and blade-down to preserve their edge.
- When hand-washing, use mild soap and a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid abrasive detergents and never use steel wool.
- To restore the original shine, simply polish with a soft cloth.
With proper care, Kilne Flatware will maintain its durability and brilliant finish for years.
Glassware
Kilne Everyday Glasses are made in Poland by a renowned European manufacturer with over 100 years of glassmaking expertise. They are crafted from soda-lime glass, the most widely used glass type, valued for its strength, chemical stability, and adaptability.
Soda-lime glass is also highly recyclable — it can be melted and reshaped multiple times without losing quality — making it a durable choice that helps create less waste in everyday use.
Yes. Kilne Everyday Glasses are completely non-toxic, lead-free, and free from harmful heavy metals such as cadmium, arsenic, mercury, and chromium. Coloured glassware is finished using eco-friendly, lead-free organic paints, so you can enjoy your drinks with confidence.
No. Kilne Everyday Glasses are designed for cool or room-temperature beverages only. They are not resistant to high heat or sudden temperature changes, which may cause the glass to crack or shatter. We do not recommend using them for hot drinks such as coffee or tea, or in the microwave.
Yes. Kilne Everyday Glasses are dishwasher safe. Coloured pieces are guaranteed to last up to 500 dishwasher cycles, thanks to eco-friendly organic paints. For the best longevity, we recommend handwashing.
Wood Products
Yes. Acacia is a naturally durable wood that makes it ideal for kitchen products. It is naturally antibacterial, heat resistant, resistant to fungus, and less prone to warping or scratching compared to other woods. Acacia is also a sustainable and eco-friendly choice for cutting boards and kitchenware.
To keep your acacia wood cutting boards and tools in the best condition:
Cleaning: Hand-wash with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Avoid soaking, submerging, or using steel wool or abrasive cleaners. Towel-dry immediately and let air dry completely. Always wash before first use. When preparing raw meat or poultry, wash thoroughly right after use to keep boards clean and food-safe.
Care: Apply a protective layer of food-safe oil every month or so, depending on use. Mineral oil or linseed (flaxseed) oil are excellent options, as they penetrate the wood grain to prevent drying, protect against humidity changes, and bring out the natural color and grain.
Storage: Keep acacia wood products away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent cracking or fading.
With proper care, Kilne acacia wood products will stay durable, beautiful, and food-safe for years.
