Caring For Your Kilne

Ceramic Cookware

Crafted for Consistent Heat

Kilne Ceramic Cookware is thoughtfully crafted to deliver exceptional performance with remarkable speed and precision. Our pans transfer heat beautifully from the stovetop to the cooking surface, allowing the non-stick ceramic to perform at its best on medium heat (around a 5 on a scale of 1–10). Reserve higher heat for boiling water, and enjoy effortless cooking results every time.

Each piece features a precision-crafted ferromagnetic base compatible with all stovetops, including induction, and is oven safe (without the lid) up to 400°C / 750°F. The lids are designed with self-basting dots to return moisture evenly across your dish, and are oven safe up to 250°C / 480°F.

Effortless Release

Healthy cooking is effortless with Kilne Ceramic Cookware. Only a small touch of oil, butter, or ghee is needed to help food release beautifully and elevate flavour. For long-lasting performance, avoid aerosol sprays and refrain from heating your cookware while empty.

The Ease of Clean

Cleaning your Kilne Ceramic Cookware is effortlessly easy. Allow the pan to cool before washing to protect the non-stick surface, though a warm pan can be safely cleaned with hot water when needed.

Protect & Preserve

For lasting performance, use silicone or wooden utensils. When storing, separate pieces with a soft cloth to protect the finish.

Fond of Flavour

Caramelized bits or browning are signs of flavour in the making. Deglaze during cooking to elevate your dish, or after cooking, gently simmer water with a splash of vinegar and baking soda to release fond and refresh the surface.

Cookware That Tells a Story

Over time, exterior markings are a natural part of cookware that’s cherished and well-used. To keep it looking its best, gently clean the exterior with a mild abrasive sponge and a quality cleaning paste.

Knives

The Ritual of Clean

While Kilne knives are dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing to preserve their edge and finish. Dry thoroughly by hand after cleaning to maintain lasting sharpness. Wash before first use.

Cut with Care

Use only wood or plastic cutting boards to protect the blade’s refined edge. Avoid cutting onto metal, glass, or stone surfaces, as these can dull or damage the blade.

Store with Purpose

Display your knives proudly in the provided knife block or on the Kilne Magnetic Strip, designed to protect the blade’s edge and complement your kitchen’s aesthetic. Avoid storing knives loosely in drawers or on countertops, where they may be damaged.

Sharpen to Perfection

Although Kilne knives stay sharper longer, regular sharpening will ensure their edge remains precise. After every few uses, hone your knives with the Kilne Sharpening Steel to realign the blade,  just a few gentle strokes make a lasting difference. Every few months, especially with daily use, refresh the edge with the Kilne Water Knife Sharpener to create new micro-teeth along the blade. For lasting performance, we recommend professional sharpening once a year to restore the edge and extend the life of your knives.

Serrated knives (Bread Knife & Steak Knives) require a different sharpening method. We recommend bringing them to a professional for expert care.

Dinnerware

Crafted for Everyday Elegance

Kilne dinnerware is dishwasher safe for effortless cleanup, microwave and oven safe up to 250°C / 480°F, and freezer safe down to -20°C / -4°F.

Handle with Care

To preserve the lasting beauty of your pieces, avoid sudden temperature changes that may cause thermal shock. When handling items from the oven or microwave, use oven mitts or a tea towel, as the surfaces will become hot.

Preserve the Finish

Each piece is finished with a semi-matte glaze, giving it a refined texture and soft, luminous sheen. Over time, faint marks from flatware may emerge, a sign of its artisanal charm. Simply refresh the surface with a light polish using scouring powder and a non-abrasive brush.

Flatware

Kilne Flatware is dishwasher safe for easy care, simply wash before first use. When using the dishwasher, separate knives from other pieces and place them blade-down to preserve their edge and polish.

For hand washing, use mild soap and a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid abrasive detergents and never use steel wool, as these can damage the finish. Dry pieces thoroughly after washing to maintain their natural shine.

Wood Products

The Ritual of Clean

Kilne acacia wood cutting boards and tools are made to be both durable and beautiful, designed to age gracefully with use. Ensure the wood has cooled completely before cleaning. Hand wash with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Avoid soaking, submerging, or using abrasive cleaners or steel wool. Always wash before first use, and dry immediately with a towel before allowing to air dry completely.

When preparing raw meat or poultry, wash thoroughly right after use to keep boards clean and food-safe. For best results, wet both sides evenly during cleaning to help prevent warping.

Preserve the Finish

To maintain your board’s natural lustre, apply a protective layer of food-safe oil every month or as needed. Mineral oil or linseed (flaxseed) oil are excellent choices — they penetrate the wood grain to prevent drying, protect against humidity changes, and enhance the rich colour and texture of the acacia.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources to preserve the integrity of the wood and prevent cracking or fading.

Restore & Renew

Your cutting board can enjoy a full rejuvenation whenever it needs one. Clean it with vinegar or lemon and coarse salt, gently sand the surface if desired to smooth the grain, and finish with a fresh coat of oil.

A Lifetime of Use

With regular care and attention, Kilne acacia wood products will remain durable, food-safe, and beautifully aged — developing the rich patina that defines well-loved kitchen tools.
